Random Fact: Home and Away will rot your BRAIN

August 3, 2009

Seriously, how is this one of the highest rating shows in Australia?

How f..king stupid must young people be?

Wilderness Society vs. Cape York Aborigines: Left vs Left

July 30, 2009

As a penguin without the shackles of ideology, I love it when idealogues tear themselves to pieces. Especially when both causes are lefty. Cape York aborignies gatecrashed a Wilderness Society fundraiser in Sydney to protest a law which prevents them from setting up business near gazetted lakes, rivers and streams. You know, making a living where the tribe is. Wilderness Society hits back with some Green rubbish that even though there is no tourism/ecological value, they must be saved from the scary aborigines.

Solution is simple. Move elsewhere. Australia is a big country. And Wilderness Society – why don’t you start in your own backyard.

It goes to show that left vs right is not the same as good vs. evil.

Medicare:What do you mean I can’t have something for nothing?

July 28, 2009

So Rudd is going to fix Medicare.

And people are howling that it will cost them another $1000 per annum to ensure they get better public healthcare than Mali.

When are people going to get it – things cost money – even for governments.

And without a money tree, we are the ultimate source of said money. Suck it in – a thousand bucks isn’t that much moolah.

Long time, no post

July 27, 2009

So I didn’t post yesterday. I was busy. I’ll make up for it by posting twice today.

Unfortunately this is one of them.

Chanelle Rae: Cyber-Bullying Suicide ‘Tragedy’

July 24, 2009

Melbourne: Cyber-bullying has claimed another life in Melbourne, with the funeral of Chanelle Rae today, who took her own life after being bullied on the internet.

What an enormous tragedy, that someone cruelly took her life by making vacuous and meaningless threats. She was sweet, bubbly and full of life….. is what I would say if I was a stupid human.

In these modern days of airbags, helmets, TV dinners and medical miracles, natural selection has been cast aside in favour of polluting the gene pool with people who are not smart enough, strong enough or quick enough to evade death. We penguins still live by these rules – and one day we will rise against the puny humans.

I say good riddance. You were 13. I highly doubt that your life would be ruined if your secrets were exposed. You will not pass on your fragile ego to a new generation.

Viva le natural selection!

The dangers of immunisation

July 22, 2009

I’m not a parent. I hate kids actually. As a penguin – I think I’d just eat them anyway…

One thing I do hear parents moan about a lot though is immunisation. The risks, the side-effects, whether they should or not.

How about a simple analogy. There is a small but finite chance that the helmet strap could choke you in an cycling accident. However, it is much more likely it will stop your melon being crushed like… a melon.

Prudent risk management is one of the things that separates us from apes.

At least some of us.

ADF: Keeping the fear alive

July 21, 2009

The Age has reported Air Chief Marshal Houston saying that a ‘Terror Surge‘ will be the result of pulling out of Afghanistan.

Like ants trapped in honey, the The Age pounced on it.

“If we were to all withdraw now, we would leave the country in a situation where I think there would be a civil war,” Air Chief Marshal Houston said.
“And there is a very strong possibility the Taliban would prevail,” he said.
“If the Taliban were to prevail we would be likely to go back to the circumstances that we had before 2001 where the Taliban hosted groups like al-Qaeda.”

Doesn’t quite read as straight forward as:

Troop exit ‘may cause terror surge’

It’s a bit of a stretch – even from the quote. Basically, the argument is this:

If A then maybe B.

If B then probably C.

If C, then likely D.

The implication is that D = Twin Towers II/America demolishing the White House in favour of a White Mosque/Whatever else keeps rednecks up at night.

Its brilliant when you think about it. The media becomes the fall guy – printing the alarmist stories of resurgent terrorism. But if you look at what Houston said, you cannot finger him for anything.

Look out for Angus in parliament soon- that’s PM potential politiking going on here.

In Other News: Jemaah Islamiyah strikes again

July 19, 2009

Jakarta: Western media has been rife with reports that JI has sent suicide bombers to detonate explosives in two western hotels in Indonesia on Friday. Bombs were detonated at the Ritz-Carlton, and the Mariott hotel in Jakarta, killing nine people, many of whom  were foreign nationals on business.

In other news, approximately 8,499, 991 people survived bomb blasts in Jakarta. It is said that up to 4,600 of these people were tourists or business visitors. Tourists who survived the night were shocked. ‘I can’t believe I survived. Do you know that only 99.99989% of people in Jakarta survive bombings like this? And tourists are at even greater risk. Did you know that 0.999994% of tourists are not killed each year in terrorist bombings in Jakarta? It is an outrage, and something must be done immediately to guarantee visitor safety’ said concerned traveller Whatta Nidiot.

John Howard was said to offer to come out of retirement to impose draconian laws on Australian citizens in order to prevent terrorist actions like this. Kevin Rudd has been quoted as telling Mr Howard to ‘get out of the limelight old man, this bombing is mine to milk for poltical capital. In desperate times like these, a congenial and diligent system of governance and legal cavalry is crucial to ensure the the outright prevention of, and indeed expulsion of the outlying prospect that a foreign national may come to some sort of bodily harm at any time during execution of their business itinery.’

The press gallery fell asleep during this speech, and were awoken only by Rudd’s billowing laughter that he himself had imposed draconian laws limits Australian citizens human rights and privacy while they were asleep listening to his incomprehensible babble.

When is everyone going to get it – you have to be exceptionally unlucky to be killed by a terrorist. More people win millions in lotteries than die in a terrorist bombing.

The terrorists win by striking irrational fear into the hearts of the masses. Crazy laws are passed, some people are given limitless power which they are very likely to abuse, and the rest have none. The terrorists are winning. And our media is complicit.

You tell them Senator Loopy

July 15, 2009

Canberra: Senator Steve Fielding has asked for a one-on-one meeting with Al Gore; to share his concerns with anthropogenic climate change theory.

Good luck Senator Loopy.

Climate change believers are exactly that, believers. Being a believer yourself, you should know that people who have an irrational belief in myths are not swayed by reason, or even proof.

In fact climate change believers have a lot in common with those who believe in religion. They label their opponents with words loaded to make their opponents look irrelevant (skeptic, heretic). They claim that if they are not followed that pain and suffering will follow (global warming, hell). Their theories are practically impossible to prove true until far too late (global warming cannot be proven until after it happens, heaven cannot be proven to exist by the living). The have a doctrine (An Inconvenient Truth, The Bible), they have command structure that interprets the doctrine for the followers (IPCC, The Pope). They demand money for the cause.

In fact, I’m sure the Climate Change satisfies the 7 requirements of a religion.

Stay tuned.

Was Palestine the best choice for Israel?

July 14, 2009

Why did the Jews choose Palestine to colonise and turn into their promised land of Israel?

Apart from the obvious – Jerusalem, it has nothing else going for it.

Their territory is tiny. All of their neighbours hate them, and do not acknowledge their statehood. There are no resources no fresh water, poor access to shipping lanes. It’s not suited to modern agriculture. Their neighbourly relations make them an enclave by land, with hostile enemies in all directions. They displaced a people that have since sworn avenge and war until their dying breath.

Why not choose somewhere with vast spaces far from their enemies? Take an otherwise wasted portion of the US. What about Canada, Australia, or an island or two in the Pacific. Hitler was hardly going to invade New Mexico, Yukon, Perth or Seychelles.

The fact is, that any moron could’ve seen that the Muslims would be upset about having their holy lands stolen by the Jews.

Their predicament is all their own making. And may never be solved.
